Okay, well, I’m sure more than a few of you noticed the lack of comic this week, even when I promised it would be up on Friday. Well, first things first, I’m sorry. I really did mean to, and the comic got about halfway done before things just went all over the place. First of all, I usually do the comic on Thursdays, and this Thursday I had COMPLETELY forgotten about a freelancing job I needed to complete, so I had to use the evening to finish that off. By the time I finished, it was pretty late, and I wanted sleep. So I said, no big deal, I’ll finish it Friday evening. ↓ Read the rest of this entry…
Good news, everyone! The Daily Quests Store is officially open for business! That’s right, now you can own a little piece of Vas and Fyre. The store is currently stocked with original artwork and the first edition of the Daily Quests comic book, but keep checking back because more products will be added as they’re delivered to us. Stickers, magnets, posters, and all that kind of thing are in the near future, and who wouldn’t want to own a Vas poster? I mean come on!
That being said, we want to thank all of you for your support and encouragement–we couldn’t do this without guys, and every donation and sale we receive goes right back into creating products and posts for you guys to enjoy, and believe me when I tell you that each and every dollar we get counts for something huge, so if you don’t see anything you like and still want to show your support, there’s a donate button to the left! Enough about that, though, head on over to the store and take a look around!
Supervas out!
Today I wanted to talk a little less about lore and a little more about Warcraft in general, and even that’s only part of what I have in mind. With the Cataclysm Beta a fresh, unique part of my daily routine I find myself at the unavoidable point in which I ask myself the notorious question: “After five years of World of Warcraft, will I continue to play?” And, well, without spoiling too much about the next expansion, my answer is a resounding yes, but my experience is a unique one, which is something I’ve grown to truly appreciate in World of Warcraft, and that’s what I wanted to talk about today.
As a self proclaimed lore nerd, my experience in Warcraft is one that’s somewhat more intense than a lot of the friends that I play with, the people I’ve raided with, and those that I’ve had only a passing pickup relationship with. I find it impossibly easy to lose myself in the game, and I often become immersed in my own character–mind you not in the same manner that a role player might (not that there’s anything wrong with role players–my creative literary base stems from a long time relationship with a text based role playing group). Even five years after the initial release I still have moments where I pan my camera around and grin with the realization that I’m in Warcraft, a world that was only briefly imagined in an early 90s strategy game. ↓ Read the rest of this entry…
The death knights of Warcraft lore have always been some of the most intriguing characters. Each incarnation of them infinitely more interesting than the last, but each individual incarnation a terribly interesting thing in and of itself. They have evolved from the necromantic resurrections of the slaughtered Shadow Council to the numb tacticians and generals of the Lich King’s Scourge army. From Teron Gorefiend to Darion Mograine, the evolution of the death knight is one that I have followed with childish glee.
But what I find even more interesting than the death knights progression from an unholy tool of Doomhammer’s Horde to the renegade warriors of Acherus and the Ebon Blade is not really where they been, but where they are headed. The Lich King is slain, Darion Mograine’s promise fulfilled, and it seems that the Knights of the Ebon Blade have found themselves absent of purpose, and more importantly, a reason to fight.
