Aww, poor grumpy tree. I remember when they announced that Tree of Life form will be removed there was quite the uproar about it. Personally, I like the change, I really love my Druids caster form, and I never get to see it. I’ll be happy to only have to go in the form once in a while, but it made me wonder what would become of Grumpy Tree…

Well, this is the last day of the first week of my new job, and I really love it. Things are going well, and I still hope I’m doing okay there. Still trying to get a feel for the place, but the people are great, I’m sure its just a matter of time. That said, those of you worried about if I have time to do the comic anymore, don’t. I’ve been able to find the time. However, those worried about how much time for commissions I now have, your fears are well grounded…My free time has definitely been cut, and since I do need time to work on the comic, I don’t know when I’d find the time to do commissions in a timely manner. I haven’t decided where to go with that yet, I kind of want to settle into my work schedule a little better and test what kind of leeway I have with spare time. I know it sucks, but not much I can do! : (!

Yesbut, Druids are specialists, they’re designed to be played as one spec only per form. Cat = DPS, Bear = Tank, Tree = heals.

@Catalyst The problem is that Tree Form is a relatively new addition to druids; it didn’t used to exist in the beginning of the game and I honestly feel like they added it solely because they had given druids moonkin form. It was like someone said “oh, man, we should give healers a form too.” To me, it also doesn’t really fit in with the various druid factions Blizzard introduced; Druid of the Claw, Fang and Talon. Current druids are all druids of the Claw, thus why we got Bear form, cat form and a travel form that looked like a cat. Moonkin and tree never really fit in with that theme (though one could argue that moonkins do have claws)
I do miss the days in MC and BWL where the druid healers would be all lined up in their T2, moose helms held high. Trees are nice, but all druids everywhere shouldn’t have to be in some form or the other to do their job.

Seems odd though to remove this. I mean, druids are the shapeshifter class. I’d think the more shapes to shift, the better… right? Maybe they just need to have them change their looks like the bear and cat do now… like have their leaves be different colors depending on your hair color. lol!
So what does this mean for the boomkins? Is that going the way of the dodo next? Or is that kind of a totally separate thing?

There’s been enough debated about the Tree form change, so I won’t rehash that. My druid is only half a year old, so I don’t have the long standing attachment to Tree form that other druids have. But still, we’re supposed to be a shape shifting class! And do they really expect us to contribute DPS in a raid?

Blizzard feels “that druids want people to be able to see their armor”. O.o I could care less if people can see my gear. I’m a Boomer/Tree cow. What more needs to be seen?

Dang it! I rolled a druid hordeside on my realm just so I could be a tree and see what all the fuss was about. Now, it’ll be gone by the time I reach it.

Well, it’s not just that the permanent tree-form is vanishing, they also apparently get redesigned. So Grumpy might get even more changes. Question now is, will he get ancient of war tusks, or will he need to add a lantern to dangle from his branches, or get a floating rock head?
I wonder if my tedrassil pet will be gone too :(

There’s an easy way to reconcile this. It’s not that they are taking away tree form, they just aren’t teaching it to any new druids….plus all the ones who know it will suddenly get amnesia because of the cataclysm..except for Grumpy tree, he’s too grumpy to forget.

poor trees :( why not add change them to optional effect like BG xp go talk to a druid npc and turn it on or off. blizzard has done crazier things.
I’m very attached to my Tree Form! (In fact a lot of my character development revolves around her relationship with others and randomly turning into a tree). So it’s going to be “Oh well, I can’t be a tree right now, too bad”? I plan on retiring my druid when Cataclysm comes out in favor of my DK and Mage. At least they haven’t taken the fail hammer to them.
Also, I cried a little for grumpy tree! So cute, but so sad.
Mages ARE getting fail hammered IMO. Arcane missiles as a proc for everyone to start. Gutting the uniqueness of the arcane tree and giving it to everyone. Missile barrage will become pointless. Damage dependent on the amount of mana you have…. I could go on for pages. :( IMHO cataclysm looks like a massive load of fail in all areas of class changes. Don’t get me wrong I’ll buy it in hopes they aren’t killing my… I hope I won’t end up demanding a refund. *disengaging rant systems* 8D
Why couldn’t we keep our Trees, but have Balance just have Moonkin form as a temporary “limit break” instead? Something similar to a Demonology warlock’s demon form. I mean, geez! I just macroed my druid to yell “Wonder Tree Powers Activate” while shape shifting too ;)

The first time I had seen the post about tree form in cata I had shrieked to the heavens a “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!” :( I was quite saddened, I will miss the times when I have seen a tree drink/eat.
Yay tomorrow is Friday! I cant wait for the new update! ^.^
OMG, I thought it just was a bad rumor going around… NOOOOOO!!!! I am going to miss my happy Twisty Dance! I am going to miss playing Look Alike with the Lemonade Trent! I don’t even LIKE my clothing! (Yeah, I seriously miss my T1 set)
