I’m sure most of you by now have checked out the new content in 3.3, and I hope that a lot of you got to get to the Gunship Battle, which is the third boss in ICC. I was able to go on both the 25 and 10 man versions, but the 10 man was way more fun. Mostly because I got to fly over to the other ship to do some damage >:) In fact, so did Weohstan. So he saunters over to the goblin to ask for his rocket pack, and lo and behold, they put it on his butt. Laughs were had by all.
Not only that, but Weoh’s first attempt at using a rocket pack wasn’t even as successful (if you can call it that) as it is in this comic. In fact, he line of sighted the ship, and couldn’t get over to tank Bronzebeard, who promptly said hello to Vas, with a mace to the face. Then I tanked him with dispersion…for 6 seconds. Needless to say, that attempt didn’t go very well!
So forgive the lateness in my posting of the comic today…I was a little distracted last night and stayed up way too late. Both because I had to call 911 because somebody was breaking into our underground parking, but mostly because WEOHSTAN GOT ME A CINTIQ 21UX FOR CHRISTMAS!!!!! Oh my god, I can’t believe I didn’t try harder to get one of these things sooner…its…INCREDIBLE! Everything I always dreamed it would be!!! Athough I really didn’t think it would be this big. Its huge! Anyway, I was up late last night playing with it. I thought it a good opportunity to test out using it, as well as sketch out another Druid-Rocket-Pack issue we learned of in 25 man ICC:
My first fully drawn on the computer picture! Also experimented with Textures a little, which I’d like to play with in the future. This took me about…I dunno, three hoursish, maybe a little less ’cause I was talking to the police a lot last night too. Not bad for my first attempt I think! I can’t wait to use it more!
That said, I won’t be able to use it at all this next week or so, as I am going to visit my Dad in Edmonton again, and this thing is SO not portable :P I really really really want to bring it though :P Anyway, if I don’t get the chance before now, or if you are going on vacation shortly like I am, I do want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas, and a safe and happy New Year!

I agree this one is absolutely AWSOME! The concerned, thoughtful look in the first panel had me laughing before I even read the dialog, and that changed to “uh-oh” in the second panel. It was definitely worth the wait, as well as the puzzled looks I got from coworkers as I busted out laughing. I love it!

Vas’ enthusiasm is clearly OVER 9000 :P The goblin could use a little work (looks like a leper gnome…. a little), but everything else totally makes up for it :)
And, of course, CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR WACOM! And you got the big Cintiq too! I hear this thing is so sexy, that men abandon their wives… well, almost ;) Definitely looking forward to see how the comic – and your art in general – will look! The tree one looks really nice, and the textures are coming alone very nicely (although I think you overused them a bit :P ). But I can see how it’s not very… portable ;)

As far as the cintiq goes… I would highly suggest learning how to play games with it… On Team Fortress 2, you can headshot so easily. It’s almost like cheating… like playing those old shooter arcade games and holding the gun right against the television screen. Good times.

The only thing funny that happened to me on the gunship was that I couldn’t see the boat. I was at the top of the ramp and the rest of the group told me to just walk forward anyway, that the boat was there.
SPLAT. Lucky it was there when I came back from the graveyard.
Hehe, i really like this comic ^.^ i’ve followed it from WoW Insider and read back, it tickles me. reminds me just a little of the old Ding! comics before Scott Kurtz stopped :( but this seems better, much more entertaining ^.^
and as a resto druid, gotta love the tree drawing ^.^
On another note, you’d think moonkins could just fly with all those feathers wouldnt you… or wouln’t we just use flight form like any other half sensible druid? silly blizzard… apparently propelling your tank ass-first across a gaping chasm makes more sense.
