All Bark and No Baubles

I guess Grumpy Tree found one good thing about the new tree form! She won’t sit idly by and get decorated this year!

I had originally wanted to save this one for a little closer to Christmas, but lets face it. Halloween was over for a couple of hours and the Christmas displays were up in stores. I’ve already been hearing Christmas Carols on the radio too. Its coming…I always disliked how early all this stuff happens every year. Granted I’m a horrible procrastinator, but still, a Christmas comic in November…bleh! Anyway, certain circumstances being as they are called for this comic to be done a little bit earlier than planned.

Okay, I assume that most of the people who read Daily Quests is a gamer, and unless you have been living under a rock for the past seven years, you’ve probably heard about Child’s Play. It’s a charity set up by the guys from Penny Arcade to bring toys and video games to sick children at hospitals all over North America. It was created in response to the myth that some people think video games are too violent and train youths to kill. PA wanted to change that perception of the gaming community and Child’s Play was created. (make sure to check out the about section of the site for more info on how this all got started!) I’ve watched it grow every year and every year I want so much to be able to contribute, but it seems as though every year I don’t have the means to do so. This year is going to be different though.

From now until Dec. 25, for every order in the Daily Quests store, I will donate 50% of the proceeds to Child’s Play. So I’m donating the best way I can, donating most of the profit to a very worthy cause. So if you’ve ever thought about any of the items in the store, now would be a great time, as you’ll get your DQ swag, and help contribute to a worthy cause.

If you aren’t interested in any of the items in the store, I encourage you to check out the Child’s Play site, and make a donation by buying a toy to be sent to your local hospital, or make a donation directly using paypal. I for one am very happy to see that the Alberta Children’s Hospital gets to benefit from this awesome charity. Please consider making a donation, I’m sure every little bit helps.

I’ll keep you all updated on how much will be donated at the end, and thank you to anyone who donates, or purchases anything from now until Christmas. You’ll be making a difference in someones life!
